Despite my initial enthusiasm, I found that once the tutorials finished, I did not feel confident in creating a project from scratch. I spent a long time trying to familiarize myself with the layout and the features before I found that I could enjoy using the programme at a basic level, however i lacked a feel for sequencing and struggled for inspiration.
Having had no previous experience with programmes like this, I found it to be complicated, and struggled to familiarize myself with its features. Rather than asking my tutor for help like I should have done, I struggled on by myself, becoming increasingly stressed and frustrated, and when I started nearing the deadline, realized that I was not getting enough done in class, so began booking practice booths in my spare time and I was able to make some progress with my sequencing project.
Though I am not entirely incompetent at playing the drums, I found that with Ultra beat drum machine, I was creating drum beats with an unsatisfactory sound. I chose to use a song of my own called 'Riot control,' for the project, and once I had recorded basic guitar and vocal parts, it was much easier to incorporate the drum beat and fill. Once the drum beat was in place, I was able to re-record the vocal and guitar to a more satisfactory level.
